Welcome to the offical website of Equations of Action!

About

Welcome to the official site for our newest game: Equations of Action. We at Team 4 Studios take our production very seriously, and that’s exactly why we took extra care in designing and building our game. This project of ours aims to help aspiring game developers understand what it takes to produce one, and this website will guide you through the process. Our team consists of 3 members: Matthew Beckett (Lead Designer), John DiPiazza (Lead Developer), and Justin Brown (Lead Writer). We’ve come together with one common goal in mind: to bring our audience an excellent game.

This game takes place in multiple different places throughout the universe. The main character, Pythagora, is far away from Earth due to a failed teleportation experiment. The player’s main objective is to get Pythagora back to his home planet safely. He must traverse the different landscapes with caution, there are monsters lurking in every corner. In some levels, there are puzzles that must be solved in order to progress to the next one. Once you’ve reached the last level and traveled through the portal, you’ve won the game!

The Game Development Process

A lot of work went into the making of this game. None of the sprites that are seen in the game were premade - we created them all! All of the backgrounds, objects, animations, everything was built from scratch, from the ground-up. This also meant that extra time had to be put into the development of the game, since the assets weren’t originally available. The code for the game wasn’t an easy process, either. There were many things that had to be tweaked and perfected in order to deliver the best playability.

Hullo there! My name is John DiPiazza, and I was the developer for Equations of Action. My job was to write the code for both the game and the website. Although I have been coding for about 4 years now, whether or not I ever know what I’m doing is debatable.

Saying all this, you now know that if you find any bugs in the game, I’m the guy to blame, but don’t be afraid to let me know through the feedback form! I’ll only cry for about a week or so, and then I’ll get to fixing it.

Hello! My name is Matthew Beckett, and I was the designer for Equations of Action. My job was to design the sprites that were in the game and make the design for the website.

I also played the role of team encourager, and always did my best to help organize everyone's efforts into the areas where they could help the project most.

Hey! My name is Justin Brown, and I was the lead writer for Equations of Action. My job was to write the content that was placed into the game and its website.

I also assisted our designer by making all of the level backgrounds that you will find in the game, and also many of the sprites such as our dear friend Pythagora.
